Abstract:

Syndrome de la queue de cheval. A propos de 4 cas.  Les auteurs rapportent quatre observations cliniques concernat des malades dont les pre­miers symptomes se manifesterent par des al­gies longitemps considerees comme "sciatique·s".  L' etude neurologique de ces cas demontrait qu'en realite "les algies sciatiques" n'etaient que des signes mono ou pluri-radiculaires en rapport avec un syndrome de la queue de cheval d'evolution lente. Des investigations complementaires (notam.­ment - neuroradioloques) ont decouvert deux cas de tumeurs, un cas de hernie discale et une osteoporose deformante a l'origine de la com­pression.  Les auteurs soulignent !'importance de !'examen neurologique devant les Symptomes dits "sciatiques" et la necessite de considerer tout particulierement les manifestations radi­culaires dans son contexte neurologique.

Landau-Kleffner syndrome: study of four cases.

We describe four patients with clinical features of Landau-Kleffner syndrome and discuss electroencephalographic features, treatment and prognosis. Anticonvulsants and prednisone were used for treatment with good control of seizures in all cases and a less effect response in acquired aphasia. Further studies are necessary to elucidate the causes and management of this syndrome.
